So... today Chris and I began our first leap into the unknown world of Ashville North Carolina. For those of you in Pennsylvania... it is quite similar to a New Hope ... and for those of you familiar with or in New York it is another Ithaca. And for those of your familiar with neither... it is pretty much a town filled with hippies, wine, expensive coffee and lots of art and lots of stuff. So we were able to walk through much of the town this afternoon. We are staying in an absolutely lovely hostel (my first american hostel stay :) ) It has been quite a lovely surprise! We spent most of the afternoon walking through the downtown area.. and at 'Malagados'? coffee house and cafe. It was quite lovely. This evening we were able to try out the new camp stove and make some vegan jumbalaya (they didn't sell real sausage at the local co-op) :( tomorrow we are planning on leaving early for nashville!
